Hi,

Can I run the Scripting Agents in Exchange 2000 native environment(not
the mixed mode) as well as in Exchagne2003.
Is it advisable to run the scripting agents or there is any other way to run
the agents in the Exchange 2000.

Is WSS is the total replacement for Agents or is it like one is for server
side agents & other is for client side agents.

My requirment is soemthinglike this: When ever a user copies a mail from his
inbox to the public fodler, it has to send a mail to all the users who have
read aceess to that folder.

I know this is simple agent to be written, but im not sure about the
technologies to be used.

Plz help.

Regards

Yes. Exchange 5.5 Scripting agents are still supported in Exchange 2003 (but
I doubt they will be in the next version of Exchange) but you should
consider moving on to Event Sinks since they are more reliable and scalable.

Exchange 2000/2003 comes with a reliable Store Event Sink architecture you
might want to look at (as per documentation in the Exchange 2000/2003 SDK).

Do you refer to Windows SharePoint Services when talking about WSS? If so,
WSS has nothing to do with Exchange nor Agents. It's a completely different
technolgy for collaboration.

Well, I did something like that bakc in 1999 for Exchange 5.5 and in 2001
for Exchange 2000 (and this will still work with Exchange 2003 without
changes).

That's a simple Exchange 2000/2003 store event sink. The Exchange SDK has
plenty of info to get you started: http://msdn.microsoft.com/exchange
