Hello,
I just found out that my frontend exchange 2003 ent server is running on a
single disk. Without having to say it, it has become my highest priority to
get my FE server protect by a RAID level. I was thinking about setting up a
second frontend server and clustering it using NLB and then removing the old
server from the NLB cluster leaving just my new FE server. Sound like a plan?
has anyone ever done this? I have a few questions regarding this though:
1. is there any way of testing mail flow on the 2nd fe server before
bringing it into the production NLB cluster?
2. right now my old frontend server is the bridgehead server. at what point
do I switch it to the new frontend server and will it cause a problem when
the 2 servers are in a NLB cluster and just one is the master?
3. during my readings i have found that you should have x amount of FE
servers to x amount of backend servers. how do you specifically associate the
FE server to the BE server?
Thanks in advance for anyone who can offer assistance.
Regards,
Dan
