I'm getting warnings from exBPA now for my page file. This article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738135.aspx is saying
page file should be 1.05xphysical RAM. I've always understood the
rule
to be 1.5xRAM. Could this be a typo in BPA's ruleset? Why the change?
Why are there still plenty of articles recommending 1.5 RAM. Do I
really need to reduce the page file size on all my servers? What are
the impacts if we do this? Thanks.

The size of the Paging File is not consensual.
My advice is: if ExBPA recommends it, do it! (for your Exchange servers, of
course)

As a bonus, here's a cool link for you Smile

I know what the paging file is. I'm an MCSE. What I'm wondering is,
why is Microsoft suddenly changing their page file size
recommendation. Or could this be a typo. For years the recco has been
1.5 x RAM. Now it's 1.05 x RAM? I'm wondering if that's a typo in the
exBPA ruleset. Or if it's not. What's the rationale. Thanks.

How much ram have you got in the machine? This may be the reason to what
you're seeing.

The concensus is for the page file is physical ram + 10mb when it's 4GB of
ram or over.
