We are in the process of putting together a plan to transition to e2k7 . We
have a number of routing groups in a hub and spoke routing topology. Thus
all mail flow through our main hub site and then out to the internet.
My question is would it be best to transition (introduce) our first e2k7
server at our main hub site routing group and should I select the bridgehead
server at this hub site when prompted ? From what I've read the initial e2k7
installation will automatically create an exchange 2007 routing connector
between the new e2k7 server routing group and the e2k3 routing group at the
hub site, is this correct ? And secondly, what about the remote sites
(spokes) , Do I need to manually create e2k7 routing connectors from the new
e2k7 routing group to all e2k3 routing groups at same time I introduce my
first e2k7 server to maintain mail flow and server to server communication
during this coexistence phase ?

Thanks

Hi,

When you install the first exchange 2007 HUB transport server it will create
a routing group connector to an exchange 2003 server that you choose. This
could be the bridgehead server at the hub site. There is no need for any
further routing group connectors, but you might want to create another one
for redundancy.
