My company is hostihng a webcast and we need to email out logins to
customers. I wrote an smtp app in vb2005. In a loop I call client.send to
send out the individual emails. We have about 2000 people signed up for the
webcast. I tested out the app and sent 5 emails from the loop in about 10
milliseconds. That worked fine. But what if I slam 2000 emails on Exchange?
Will that bog down Exchange? Should I space the emails out by 300
milliseconds or 500 milliseconds apart? would that make a difference?

Any suggestions appreciated on best practice for doing this without crashing
anything.

Thanks,
Rich
