if advance queue fails to deliver the message, what happens to the message
itself? Where does that message reside? I could not find the message the
sender sent. Where shall i look???

Have you tried message tracking?

If you dont' have it turned on now it may not be of much use to find already
sent messages but you can use it to show where the message has been.
