My problem on my exchange 2003 server is two fold:
In exchange system manager, under global settings, properties of Message
Delivery - the default send and receive limitation size is 3 meg (3072 KB).
If I go to an individual user in AD and increase that default, the new
setting does not take for that user - it is still limited to the 3 meg global
default.
Further, I have the same problem on Storage Limits - where I will set the
default storage limit on a mailbox store at 25 megs, then if I go to any user
and try to increase the mailbox storage limit on that user in AD, that
setting does not take - only the default exchange setting is applied.
A little history here - we recently migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange
2003. So there was an AD connector tool in there. We have not tried to
increase any users specific defaults (on this new exchnage server2003) until
now. We did remove the AD connector tool recently so we could run exchange
server2003 in Native mode. Did removeing the AD connector tool do anything?
I would think not since AD is definately talking to exchange (when I create
new mailboxes, those are successful). Why, oh why, are my user specific
settings (storage and delivery limits) in AD not over riding the defaults in
Exchange?

i,

The global limits for message sizes are the maximum sizes of the messages
that can be sent over the internet - see this article for an explanation:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322679/en-us

Storage limits for individuel users should work, have you tried to set
these, wait for a day and then check again?

Migrate Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 My first Exchange 5.5 is setup on a Windows NT 4.0 SP4 server. Two years ago, I installed Exchange 5.5 on a Windows 2000 server (which is a member server platform) and under the existing Home Site. The NT 4 PDC and the W2K DC are trusted both ways.
