Every time I restart my exchange2000 SP3 server (running over Windows 2000
Server STD SP4), de System attendant services, appears as starting for about
10 minutes, and therefore the Information Store and the MTA also dont start.

Is there any obvious reason why my server is behavin like this??? this
server only manages about 20 mailboxes and the database is less than 100Mb.
in size.

This server is also a domain controller for his domain, and it's able to
comunicate with the GC which is the principal domain controller in the
organization.

I'm using Groupshield 6.02, and Virusscan 8.0i, but i'v tried uninstalling
both of them without solution to this problem.

Besides, the exchange services got errors randomly almost once a day, so I
need to restart this server in a daily basis.

Can you give me some guidance to start troubleshoting this server please?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

This is probably caused by the fact that Exchange is running on a domain
controller and waiting for the dc to be ready. You could try to configure
all exchange services to manuel, create a batch job to start the services
and run this job when the system is booted. Also create a similar job to
stop all exchange services before booting.
