Can someone please help me out with this question regarding the SMTP
connector on exchange 2003 cluster.

I have setup 2 exchange servers one of them called "Batman" and the
second exchange called "Robin". We then cluster the two exchange
servers together to form a "Hulk" cluster exchange.

How do I create or setup an Internet SMTP connector on exchange
cluster? Please walk me thru.

I also want to enable RPC over http as well as enable OWA over SSL.
How do I do this and which server should I work on. I know how to
setup OWA and connector in a non-cluster environment but not the
cluster one.

Thanks,
Jim

BTW, "Batman" and "Robin" never have a "Internet Mail SMTP Connector"
so is "Hulk".
"Internet Mail Wizard" was never ran before "Batman" and "Robin" form
a cluster.

The server you work on doesn't matter - the changes you make happen on the
EVS.
Setup a SMTP Connector for address space *.
Add the EVS (or any other Exchange server that's running SMTP and part of
same Exchange Org) as Bridgehead.
If using direct delivery (using DNS MX lookups), you don't need to do
anything else.
If using a non-Exchange MTA residing on internal or perimeter network, or
your ISP or other service provider, to send outbound, add those hosts as
smarthosts - use fqdns (preferable) or IP addresses of those hosts. If using
IP addresses, they need to be enclosed in square brackets -
[1.2.3.4],[5.6.7.8].

if it does not matter which server then I just go ahead and run
"Internet Mail SMTP Connector" on both physical servers "batman" and
"robin"
or I should only run "Internet Mail SMTP Connector" on one server
only?
there is no static DNS MX lookups. we have dedicated IP for msx with
reverse DNS for our mx record. all servers lookup dns via internal AD
to resolve ip/name

with that said do i have to use ISP or other service provider, to send
outbound, add those hosts as smarthosts? and where exactly to enter
it.

thanks,
Jim
