Having problems changing the SMTP virtual server's IP
address on a two node Active/passive exchange 2000 sp3
cluster, win2k sp4.

The SMTP server is listening on (for example)
192.158.100.10. I have setup another interface
(192.168.100.11) on the cluster and brought it online. But
if i look at the properties for the SMTP server in System
Manager, i cant alter the IP address it listens on. I cant
add another address, nor can i change it to (All
Unassigned). If i add a new virtual server, i get the same
problem.

I am able to change the IP address of the Exchange website
in IIS, which will allow me to use any interface assigned
to the server. So i figure this must be related to the
cluster.

I need Exchange listening on multiple interfaces, but am
unable to get this working.

Any help appreciated.

Thankyou

To late to help you, but you need to add each IP that you're planning to
use in your SMTP virtual server as a dependency to the Network Name
resource in Cluster Administrator.
