also over a gb in the badmail folder. is there an easy way to clean out that
queue? And any info on a check to male sure its not relaying? Checked MS's
site and , I've got the default non-relay settings as advised (default
settings) This is a new install of Ex2000.

Delete the stuff in the badmail folder and create a
schedule to do it every week or so.
Check with ordbs.org who will automate a relay test and
email you the results.

Hi,

While you may not be an Open Relay you may be an Authenticate Relay. Go to
the Relay settings and uncheck the bottom box "Allow all computers which
successfully authenticate to relay,". Keep in mind that if you have any
other Exchange Servers in the Org you will have to add their IP address in
the List above to allow Relay.
