Hi folks,
I have a Domino 6.5 mail server and an Exchange 2007 server running. The
primary mail server is the Domino, but we are in the process of migrating
users over. Is there a way to have the mail from the Domino 6.5 (new mail)
forwarded over to the Exchange 2007 server? I want to get users to
transition from lotus notes to outlook, but i want the Domino online during
the transition. However, I need to be able to use the exchange server to
send/receive emails, those that are being sent to the Domino mail server. Is
this possible?
Thanks,

Hi,
That is possible. You configure the domino server to use the 2007 servers as
a smarthost and on the 2007 server you create a receive connector where you
allow the domino server to relay messages off the 2007 server.
For inbound message syou make sure that the domino smtp domain is configured
as an internal relay domain and on the 2007 server you configure a
send-connector with the domino server as the smart-host and the domino smtp
domain name as the address space to be forwarded.

Thanks. I guess now i just have to figure out how to do this on a Domino
server installed on a ISeries machine running that IBM STUFF.
One question though? The primary domino server has the smtp names space mail.
xxx.net where users receive email at user@xxx.net On the exchange side, how
do i make it so those users who have transitioned will also get a reply to
address of user@xxx.net if the smtp namespace on the exchange 2007 server is
different?
Thanks,

Hi,
The users on the 2007 server can also have the smtp address user@xxx.net as
long as this domain names is configured as an internal relay domain. The
exchange server will forward all mails for which it is not responsible to
the domino server.
