I have asked Surfcontrol what the reason could be from this message:

INFO: 0 cC5qYW5zZW5AY2FuZGUubmw= - cC5qYW5zZW5AY2FuZGUubmw=
WARNING: 0 SMTP-AUTH failed authentication - reason: garbled Base64
data

Unfortunately they didn't awnser yet, so my question is if anyone else
has similare issues using ESMTP?

When i decode thise base64 string it shows p.jansen@?????.nl. But
surfcontrol rejects it!

Another user sending:

INFO: 2 EHLO - EHLO ws001martin
INFO: 2 AUTH - AUTH LOGIN
INFO: 2 bS5tZXV3ZXNlQGNhbmRlLm5s - bS5tZXV3ZXNlQGNhbmRlLm5s
INFO: 2 SMTP-AUTH successfull authentication for user:
m.meuwese@????.nl

passes. Sorry for the ???? it's against e-mail harvesting.

does any one have a clue?

running version 5.5 of surfcontrol SMTP filter.

thx in advance
