Hi,

I need to restore an old exchange server but I don't have a working
backup, I only have the edb files.

The domain is in-tact, in fact I am trying to restore to a DC from the
old domain (I have re-claimed all roles back to it).

I have got the database to mount without errors but there are no
mailboxes listed except for system ones. Have I missed something simple
or balls something up?

Much more information is needed here:

- What version of Exchange?
- Have you installed Exchange in a new organisation or the existing one?
- It sounds like you have mounted blank DBs. Are you sure the DB paths point
to the correct edb files?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

It's Exchange 2000 SP3 and we are running standard so there can only be
one organization.

The DB is 4.8 gig and only 2 mailboxes show items. Yeah, pointing to
correct edb files.

So you can now see 2 mailboxes with items? In your original post you could
only see the system mailboxes..
Have you run any eseutil operations on this DB?
Do you have copies of the origianl files from the old server?
