I am trying to set up more than one profile on a Windows
NT 4.0 Server running Outlook 97 through a VPN Tunnel to a
Exchange 5.5 Server. I set it so Outlook ask for a Profile
every time you try and go into Outlook. We click on File -
Exit and Log off every time but after a while if you go
into Outlook it just goes into the last profile used, it
does not ask for the profile or username. I can only fix
this by rebooting the server but the server can not be
rebooted during the day. Does anyone know why this happens?

Sounds as if the MAPI session isn't exiting correctly i.e. Outlook isn't
shutting down correctly. Whn Outlook is closed, open task manager and see
if the Outlook.exe process is still running. If it is, there is your
problem. This process would be running under the last profile you used, so
whe you start outlook again, it starts in the last profile. If you end this
process then restart Outlook. You should be prompted for a profile again.
