Hi there,

I have an exchange07 box with multiple IP addresses on the same NIC.
When the server sends outgoing mail to outside world, it always uses
the 1st IP address of the NIC card. Is there a way to specify a
particular IP address to use?

Note that I've already configured the right IP to bind on port 25
(Receive Connector), but can't seem to find a setting for the outgoing
mail.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ME.

The IP address that the Receive Connector is bound to has no impact on
outgoing messages.
This was true on Exchange Server 2003/2000 SMTP Virtual Servers as well.

If you have an Edge Transport server deployed, look at the SourceIPAddress
on the SendConnector:
Set-SendConnector

Note, the above does not work on Hub Transport servers.
The attempt to bind to the SourceIPAddress configured on the Send connector
failed

Also look at related post (applicable to Exchange Server 2003/2000, but
gives you an indication):
