I am currently testing OWA for use by remote users. The pages load somwhat
slow over dial up or other slow connections even over http but when using
ssl the pages take 30 seconds to a 1 minute to load. It is not a
proccessing issue both of my proccessors are running practically idle while
browsing the pages are loaded over https. I am wondering are there some
tweaks that can get things to speed up a bit? Is there a way to make only
the password authentication encrypted and leave the pages http? Has anyone
heard of the product HiPerExchange? I wonder if this is a viable solution.
Thanks in advance

In addition to Melissa's suggestion, you might also consider increasing
the caching time for the /exchweb/img directory; this won't help the
initial page load times, but subsequent loadings will speed up quite a
bit. Just don't fool with the caching times for any of the other items
in /exchweb.

Cheers,
-Paul

You can try to use hashed password option instead of SSL -
that should work faster.
