I actualy put my real email address on one of my postings
in this forum. What an idiot I am! I have gotten no less
then 300 emails over the last 2 days from "Microsoft"
claiming to be sending me the latest update..."Please run
my virus". Unfortunately, Outlook 2003 doesn't seem to
think it is SPAM and is letting EVERYTHING through.
Just a reminder folks...unless you want to test your SPAM
filters, don't use a real email address here...

This isn't just something that has to do with Microsoft ... this will happen
with any newsgroup. Spam robots scavenge newsgroups for legitimate email
addresses inside postings.

They're probably spoofing the sender, so you may just have given someone the
eternal gift of junk mail and SWEN viruses, or at the very least put more
load on those servers as they have to send NDRs for all the new junk mail
and SWEN messages that will be sent to them.
