We recently had to re-install our Exchange Server 2000 as a result of a
virus attack. Our anti-virus added to the problem by corrupting files while
trying to "clean" them. Since our EXS2K runs on the DC we rolled up our
sleeves and reformatted the command partition and reinstalled Win2K with SP4
and added back all our users, accounts, & machines manually.
Unfortunately we have the "UPGRADE" version of the software so we were
warned the old EXS 5.5 would have to be re-installed first. We did that and
tried to install the EXS 2K upgrade. The upgrade warned we had to install
SP 3 or above of the EXS 5.5 to proceed. Next it wanted some other pieces
of EX 5.5 installed. I was told to install the AD portion of the EXS2K
update so I did.
Now I'm in a mess. I cannot uninstall EXS 5.5 it's SP4 or the EXS2K. I can'
t get the services to start because of a login failure.
What's my best approach to start over short of reformatting the disk again?
Thanks in Advance,
Chas
