I need to move my internet mail server from an iplanet server to an exchange
server, but the servers will be working at the same time while i'm migrate the
users.I already have an exchange server but it works locally.
I'm thinking add an MX record in the DNS server, with a minor priority,i'm
not sure about that.
I will appreciate any help.

How many users ?
Reason I ask is because there is a very simple way to do this but it may
depend how easy it is on how many users you have.
If you can do a dump to text file of all your existing iplanet users and
import them as contacts........

If you redirect everything from the internet to your exchange server now and
set up contacts for redirection using internal dns / mx records for the
iplanet server with a dummy dns name then your mail flow inbound from the
internet would look like this :

A: For a non migrated user on iplanet server

internet > exchange server > exchange redirector contact >
iplanetuser@internal-dummy-mx-record.com > iplanet server

B: for a migrated user

internet > exchange server

you'd have to do it the other way round as well if you required
coexistence - which would mean setting up another internal dummy mx record
and redirection contacts from iplanet server to exchange
