Have Exchange 2000 until now (source) and set up a new 2003 (destination) on
a new hardware with W2003 (DC)

Now I set up to replicate all Address books public folders, Free/Busy... as
desribbed in checklists exact for that task.

Unfortunately the replication does not run. The destination always has
replication Stat 'Local Modified'

I moved one Mailbox to the destination mailserver. Now users on the old
server cannot send mails to this user on the new server, but the one on the
new server can.

In the event viewer of the old server I get this error every 10 minutes:
Source: MSExchangeTransport
Event ID: 4000
Description: Message delivery to the remote domain 'vnforest.ucp' (the new
servers name) failed for the following reason: Unable to bind to teh
destination server in DNS.

I read lots of tasks about this, reinstalled Exchange 2000 and SP3 and so
on. Also cheched nslookup, works.

Is there any other idea what to try else? I am really confused and have no
more ideas.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions

Wow
it exactly was the problem. There is a server entry and that server could do
not anything do with the destination name. Now I have choosen the option
'first try to contact directly' which obviously takes a bit longer for the
other messages, but it works now for the message exchange.
And one other problem has gone as well:
All users on the new server got at the end of Outlook send/receive the error
'the operation failed. an object could not be found.
Every site in internet said that I have to recreate the profile, but that
was no solution. I then thought that somethin like the offline global address
book or free/busy schedule or whatever could be the problem.

Thank you very much for your help!
Cheers
Andreas

It could be due to an incorrect route on the router configuration that cause
the traffic to use an incorrect route. Please check that

Hi
Thanks for your reply. As I have written in my reply (and voted too), the
solution from Leif Pedersen did help me (my server) out of further trouble.
Regards
Andreas
