Do I need the MSDTC on an Exchange 2007 Single Copy Cluster? And if so, why?

Can I just delete MSDTC resource and recreate one? Hi all, I can not bring cluster up as MSDTC is offline and no owner is on it. Can I just delete it and recreate it? Thanks.
