Unable to send email externally

Hi all,

I am runnning SBS 2003 and Exchange 2003 on the DC in a FE/BE
configuration. I'm having some issues sending mail externally, I can
send mail internally just fine but externally nothing. Everytime I try
to send mail externally I get a Delivery Status Notification (Delay)
message.

This was working fine until I shared our SMTP Address Space to allow us
to relay some internal mail to external POP accounts. Basically it
forwards mail to our external POP3 Server if the user's mailbox is not
found locally. I've gone through a lot of troubleshooting to no
effect.. has anyone else had this issue?
