Good Evening (Not Really)...

Let's give the whole scenario...

A customer of mine had a corrupt profile on her workstation (XP Pro) after I
had installed a new server on their network. The server is WinSvr2K3R2 with
Exch2K3. Previous server was old and had Server2K3 and Exch2K3 on it but on
its last legs.

Restored exchange mailboxes and reconnected all workstations and user fine.
However, Exec. Director of my customer could not open her email or even
connect to exchange. Created new profile in XP and pointed to exchange and
her mailbox. Restarted Outlook 2003 and her mail was restored. Left it to
restore...came back the next morning and all of her email from the start time
of my profile creation and back 1 week was GONE!

I also noticed that the profile I created was gone and it had reverted back
tot he old profile. Without checking deeper as to why, I recreated that
profile again and watched it for 2 hours while it updated her Outlook. Mail
was still missing...so I dug around and found that a pst file matching the
new profile name had been created at the time I started the original profile
change and update in Outlook...but was deleted from Outlook soon after it was
created and the old profile took back over. I did not specify the new
profile to create the mailbox as a pst file...but by default, it should have
created a new mailbox store ost file in Outlook.

I have tried to run Inbox Repair on that pst file but come up with empty
folders where the weeks worth of email should be.

The exchange server is set to keep mail for 7 days and mailboxes for 30
days. However I cannot see the missing mail on the server.

I am fairly certain that something happened inadvertantly to create and
delete that pst file which seemed to have only pulled that missing weeks
worth of email before deleting it because a pst file pulls mail from a server
and stores it on the local machine.

Can I recover that pst file and its contents from Outlook or XP or can I
still get that email back even though it was pulled from the server directly
tot he loca machine? I am at risk of losing the client and need help NOW!
Please someone help me.

Oh and just so you know...I have checked deleted items and recover deleted
items and there is nothing but spam in those locations. No missing emails
can be found. I backup using Windows Backup for the mailbox stores and do it
daily incremental and weekly fulls. If I can get the mail from there without
losing her current mail...I would look at that too.

Bharat,

Before I start, after reading a bit...the articles arent specific regarding
if I can create a recovery storage group using existing backups that I have.
Can you tell me or link instructions on how to create a RSG from exchange
backups and also how to create them over multiple backups? I would need to
recover the full system backup from Saturday and then the Monday and Tuesday
Incrementals.

Please advise...and thanks for keeping up so fast:)

You really need to become familiar with this:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/f9a66c19-b1e0-46c4-a6a1-276a569a08bf.aspx

Or call Microsoft PSS and see if they'll hold your hand through this, but
they'll likely charge you.

To repair your deleted outlook email, you require a software which can
access your pst file and restore your emails. Try Stellar Phoenix

http://www.repair-outlook-pst.com/

Software recovers deleted, lost emails, contacts, appointments from
corrupted pst file. The best part is this that demo version shows the
lost emails... If you can see your lost emails in demo version then
surely you can recover them back in full version...

Best of luck!
