Hello,

user John Doe has got primary (default) SMTP address jdoe@domainprimary.com
and secondary one jdoe@domainsecondary.com. We have got an application (a
routing agent) that rewrites the From address (From: header) of outgoing
Internet messages.

Let's suppose it always sets jdoe@domainsecondary.com as the From address.

Before SP1 the message handled by our application was delivered to Internet
recipient from jdoe@domainsecondary.com

After installing SP1 the message handled by our application is delivered
from jdoe@domainprimary.com

We're sure that application is working properly as the same message
delivered to internal recipient has got correct (secondary) From address
header in its transport headers. So it looks like Exchange 2007 SP1 changes
the From address to the primary one before sending the message out. Is it
possible to prevent this address rewriting? Earlier Exchange versions had
ResolveP2 registry key. Is there something like that in Exchange 2007 SP1?

Thanks,

Victor Ivanidze

Hi Victor,

My question over on the TechNet forums was unanswered as well. Did you
get a response from MS? I am going to open a PSS case today if I can't
figure it out.

In case anyone's looking for that post:
