Exchange 2007 and Domain controllers 64bit

All

We have been told that when we migrate over to Exch2007 and 64 bit OS that
we should also migrate all of our DCs over to 64 bit.

We were told this is considered a best practice and that Exch 2007 will see
big performance improvements if DC are 64 bit.

Has anyone heard this??? Comments

Big improvements? I'm not sure, I guess it depends on your environment.

service performance. In previous versions of Exchange, we recommended a 4:1
ratio of Exchange processors to global catalog server processors, assuming
that the processors are of similar models and speeds. This recommendation
still applies in Exchange 2007."

You increase your Directory to Exchange processor ration from 4:1 to 8:1, as
long as there is enough ram in the 64bit DC's to load the directory into
ram.

Note however that 64bit DC's are not a requirement, you can keep your
current 32bit DC's if they are sufficient.

Exchange 2003 and domain controllers I have a Windwos 2003 domain (two domain GCs) and a single Exchange 2003 SP2 server. When I shutdown one of my DCs, users lose connectivity with the mail server, despite the fact that there is another DC/GC still running. Any ideas?
