I have Exchange 2003 server installed on the server. My boss has Outlook 2003
on his desktop. He also has Outlook 2003 on his lap top. When he connects his
laptop in the LAN and uses Outlook, it downloads all the messages to the
laptop and deletes them from the server. If he comes in from outside the LAN,
it doesn't. Do I aheva setting wrong, or is that the way it is supposed to
work?

T make things worse, when he uses his "smart" phone to get email, it syncs
with the server, which now has no messages and he loses what he had on his
phone. He is not a happy camper.

Hi,

Check the Outlook configuration. Outlook must be configured to receive
messages to his Exchange mailbox and not a pst file. If Outlook is
configured to use POP3 you must also make sure that it is configured to
leave messages on the server.
