Single Exchange server (standalone) on Server 2003. I followed the RPC over
Http setup guides to the letter for both the server and Outlook client
configuration.

I test over WAN for the initial connection, and the rpcdiag shows its
connecting via TCP/IP, not http. As soon as I turn on the windows firewall
(with http and SSL exceptions) the connection is terminated.

My problem appears to be 2 fold. I can't figure out why its using TCP/IP,
and I assume that problem is causing the second issue of losing the
connection when the Windows firewall goes up.

Where do I start? What info can I provide for troubleshooting?

Thank you in advance!
