Hi,
I am in the proccess of evaluating windows vista business version and
microsoft office 2007. I currently run microsoft windows 2k with outlook 2k3
and I have no problems. I connect to to a remote network and start my
checkpoint vpn client. I can ping the exchange server (it is also one of the
DC's) by netbios name image and by fqdn image.local.laser however I cannot
connect via outlook, it just gives up and says disconntected. Also when i try
to access the shares on the server via \\netbios name or even \\ip address it
comes up and asks for a password then says it cannot verify from a DC I have
added the name in both hosts and lmhosts and named it as the DC for that
domain. I have turned off all windows firewall functions. Any advice from
here would be appreciated.

Figured it out I put the wrong ip address into the lmhosts and hosts file. I
changed it and it is all working beautifully
