Source: MSADC
Category: Service Controller
Event ID: 8108
Description: The initialization process failed.

This error is running every 5 minutes on our DC. Anyone have any ideas? I
checked TechNet article Q317210 and it didn't pertain at all to our
situation. We have no child domains, we're running in AD mixed mode, and
all of our Exchange servers are enterprise edition, not standard as
mentioned in the article.

Hi Jim,

Is there Exchange 5.5 or ADC running in your org? This error event may caused
by ADC replication. So please temporarily step ADC and then check the issue
again.

Also, please send the application log to me at v-patcai@microsoft.com for further
research.

Hi Jim,

Are you running any Exchange 5.5 servers? If not you can remove ADC from
your environment.

If you are still running Exchange 5.5 have you changed, your ADC server, any
ADC related settings or policies?

Hi Jim,

In order to get a concrete idea about this issue, would you please send a
MPSreport of the Exchange server to me? You effort will be appreciate.

1. Download and collect the MPS report for the Exchange Server.
"http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd
915706/MPSRPT_Exchange.EXE"

2. Send the MPSReport to my working email address: v-patcai@microsoft.com.

How many Exchange servers are hosted in your Org? Does this problem occur
on all servers? If there is only a particular server, please try to reboot
it.

Hi Jim,

If the error event is raised by DC, then MPSreport is not necessary which
is special to Exchange server.

We should notice that the error event source is MSADC

Source: MSADC
Category: Service Controller
Event ID: 8108
Description: The initialization process failed.

Thus I still suspect that this problem is caused by some misconfiguration
on ADC.

Please check whether the Windows ADC service is running on your DC, as well
as the 10 Exchange servers. If the Org is in native mode, than there should
be no ADC and no Exchange 5.5 бн

-- Run "services" to start the Service snap-in.

You can send a system info dump to me -- Run "msinfo32", and then Save as a
NFO file. And please check the 10 Exchange service

Also, please check if there are ADC entries remaining in ADSI.

-- Run "ADSIedit.msc" on DC
If this utility cannot be found, please install Windows 2000 support tools
or Windows 2003's

892777 Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 Support Tools
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=892777

-- Check this container
Configuration
CN=Service
CN=MS Exchange
CN=Active Directory Connections

Please remove all entries in this container, and then reboot DC.

Hope the info helps.

CN=Service
CN=MS Exchange
CN=Active Directory Connections

Please remove all entries in this container, and then reboot DC.

Hope the info helps.

We're in Exchange 2000 native mode. No 5.5 servers, no AD connectors, no
child domains.
