Hi,
On a 2000 Small Business Server, email sent from internal Outlook clients to
Exchange Users on the server is not routed out to the Internet. A user has
a smartphone that checks POP email (hosted thru an ISP) and only sees email
from senders that have external email addresses.
Is there a SMTP setting or forwarding feature that can be enabled so email
sent internally to an internal address gets delivered as if it were going to
an external email address (I.e. it goes out to the POP box on the ISPs
server as opposed to going directly to the Exchange Inbox)?
Thank you.

Yes, you will need to setup hosting your own SMTP,

If you are using the SBS POP3 connector then I would post to the SBS
Newsgroup for assistance.

Thanks John,
I don't use the SBS POP3 connector. To keep it simple (hosting an SMTP
server is not possible in the situation), I may try setting up an outgoing
message Outlook rule on the client to copy/forward a message to the users
phone email address.

I suggest you post in m.p.backoffice.smallbiz2000 for more expert help. I
agree with John that hosting the mail directly would be the best and
simplest option (and I've rarely seen a situation in which it can't be
done), but the SBS gurus in that group may have more advice for you.
