Here are some articles on how to move the database and transaction logs to
another directory or volume:

Exchange 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821915
Exchange 2007: http://www.exchangeninjas.com/MoveLogs

Also, please ensure you take a full system backup prior to making any
changes.

Thats not exactly the best way to do it. There are procedures that make this
pretty much automatic.
As Richard posted, the proceedures are in those links.

Hi Martin,

The proceedures which Richard posted is good for small exchange database. It
is disaster if there is some error during the moving.

My way is good for hugh Exchange database, I suggest to shutdown exchange
services to move database files.

I would still follow the MSKB article so the procedure is supported in the
event something does go wrong and you need to contact MS Support....

Now is moving the database "your way" any different to using the
Exchange Server Manager? Both of them move the database.

Your way will create a new, empty, database in the location previously
occupied by the database. That will lead to a few moments of
heart-pounding panic as the helpdesk calls begin to roll in. Smile
