DCOM issue, event id 10009, Exchange server not able to deli

Hi,
i have an exchange 2000 server behind an ISA 2000 firewall and yesterday the
server could not connect and delivers message to some remote hosts. There is
no entry in the SMTP logs. the Exchange server's system event logs where
showing the below messages:

Event Source : DCOM
Event IDt : 10009
Date : 06/09/2006
Time : 15:40:49
User : INTRABICEC\Administrateur
Computer : BICEC-EXCH
Description :
DCOM could not communicate witth computer bay0-mc9-f7.bay0.hotmail.com by
using the configured protocols.

Event Source : DCOM
Event IDt : 10009
Date : 06/09/2006
Time : 14:46:05
User : INTRABICEC\Administrateur
Computer : BICEC-EXCH
Description :
DCOM could not communicate witth computer rpi0i001.laposte.fr by using the
configured protocols.

later on the server was again able to communicate with those remote hosts,
this is an recurring issue and i would like to understand the source of this
for me to prevent it to happen in the future. Can someone please assist me?

Front End Server- OWA I just installed a FE server with exch 2000 on server 2003. The http virtual directory on the BE server points to the M:/ drive. The http virtual directory on the FE server also points to the local M:/mbx drive. Now when I try to access email via http,
