I am running Exchange 2000 on Windows 2000. Yesterday, the Event Viewer
Application log logged a "Success Audit", Event ID 100 message saying that
"DAVEX has successfully started. Version: 6.0.6249.0" This occured
mid-afternoon while the server was up and no changes were being made to to
system. I don't use OWA and all else seems to be working correctly, but I
would like to know why this was unexpectedly started and if it means that I
have a problem?
Thank you,
Laurie

Hi,

Its the ISAPI filter for OWA - you are sure that nobody is using OWA?

Exchange System Manager uses DAV to get some Public Folder properties.
Perhaps the starting of the service coincides with some PF admin work
that you did?

Lee.
