Do I need anti virus software on cluster if I have av forefront security
running on hub/cas. I dont have edge. If I do, Do I install forefront (for
Exchange) or McAffee (for Server)

Thanks

You don't "need" anti virus on any server anywhere, ever. Really. You
don't "need" it but do you "want" it?
Personally I'd leave it off the cluster and make sure that you have
three engines on your HT and a different vendor on the client.

If the A/V software is rock solid, cluster aware and you're happy
happy with it then do it. If you have a shadow of doubt or have ever,
ever encountered anyone experiencing a problem with it on a cluster
then you know the answer!

From "Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server Best Practices",
http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/8/6/A86C15FA-3431-48E1-A264-F53F72BAF840/Best_Practices.doc:

"For baseline protection throughout the enterprise, we recommend that
Forefront Security for Exchange Server be deployed on all Edge and Hub
servers.
For global protection throughout the enterprise, we recommend that Forefront
Security for Exchange Server be deployed on all Edge, Hub, and Mailbox
servers"

I usually recommend installing the AV in ALL servers, but I'm OK if a
customer of mine tells me that he'll only install it on the HT servers.
